Wedding-Ready Nails with OPI Education Team
Wedding season is one of the busiest times of the year for nail professionals. To help you make the most of it, we’ve tapped into the expertise of our freelance education team- also successful business owners- who share their top tips for supporting brides on their search for the perfect mani.
Lucy says: ‘Wedding prep starts at engagement nails, which is always a great opportunity to begin wedding consultation. It is worth recommending that your clients trial their nails before their big day. If they like a french polish, what shade of pink would they like? Give them the opportunity to try them on their nails and wear them before they commit. They might want to consider an elevated finish such as chrome, shimmer or something special for the big day. It is also a great opportunity to upsell further services such as luxury manicures, making sure it is not just their nails that look great on their wedding photos, but their skin and hands do too.’
Jenna has suggested creating a bespoke wedding day package and naming it something that speaks to Brides - ‘I would promote a gel polish manicure and pedicure with a chrome finish and name it ‘Your day to Shine’.
Sandra also offers bespoke packages for Bride and Grooms, she says ‘The consultation process should start at least 2 months prior to the wedding day to determine the look and set a treatment plan. For bridal manicures you can add special extras such as lace, nail jewellery or gems to increase revenue and create a unique look.’ Sandra advertises her wedding packages on her website and states ‘SA Nails can come and visit you at your home or wedding venue ahead of the big day’.
Aswell as mobile appointments, Loretta offers pamper parties - ‘You can hire out the entire salon for the Bridal Party, we give the option to supply their own food and drinks and we provide the manicures and pedicures to ensure everyone’s nails are perfect and giving them some downtime before a very busy time.’
‘Wedding season isn't just an opportunity to create a beautiful manicure, but to also create a matching or complimentary set of toes to match to make your client feel their best on their wedding day and potentially honeymoon to. Prepping your clients nails ahead of their wedding is an opportunity to increase revenue, with the run up to the wedding, mother of the bride nails, bridal party, groom, hen do prep and also honeymoon prep.’ - says Lucy
